During his visit, Prof. ke Lu, Director of IMR, and Prof. Rui Yang, Deputy Director of IMR, had a friendly meeting with Professor Greer, respectively, and introduced to him on the research activities of the institute. Professor Greer was invited to deliver a lecture on the topic of “The Glassy State—Novel Properties and Applications Exploiting Non-Crystallinity”. Then, he held discussions with scientists and graduate students of the SYNL.

Lindsay Greer is Professor of Materials Science, and Head of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy of the University of Cambridge. He received his PhD in Metallurgy & Materials Science from the University of Cambridge in 1979. He was a NATO Postdoctoral Fellow and then Assistant Professor of Applied Physics at Harvard University from 1980 to 1984. He joined the University of Cambridge in 1984.
