Introduction

The Magnetism and Magnetic Materials Division focuses interests on the magnetism and associated phenomena in matters and the magnetic properties of different materials. The physical phenomena related with the magnetism and the energy transfers between magnetic, electronic, optic, thermal, phonon et al., are very rich in nature. The magnetic materials, including permanent magnetic, soft magnetic, magnetic recording, magneto-optic, magneto-resistance, magnetostrictive, magneto-caloric materials, etc, have been widely applied in different fields. Our interests focus on the nature of the spins, orbits and energy bands of electrons, the relations between structure and magnetic properties, the magnetic phase transitions and the transfers of different functions, the relations between intrinsic and technical magnetic properties, the development of designs and synthesis of nano-structured and nano-composited magnetic materials and so on.
