Dr Hao's research focuses on the development of multifunctional titanium alloys with high strength and ultralow elastic modulus. He has published more than 30 papers in Phys. Rev. Lett., Appl. Phys. Lett., Phys. Rev. B, Acta Mater., Acta Biomater., Biomaterials, Metall. Mater. Trans. A etc. His work has  been cited more than 300 times.
