Recently, Prof. CHENG Huiming was announced to be one of the three recipients of ACS Nano Leadership Award. Together with the other two recipients, Prof. David J. Norris and Prof. Teri Odom, Prof. Cheng is going to give a lecture and receive the award at ChinaNANO in August in Beijing, China.

The project of defects and microstructure control of large alloy ingot and forging done by Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science (SYNL) researchers has recently been granted the second prize of National S&T progress award. Carried out by Prof. LI Dianzhong, Prof. LI Yiyi and other researchers at SYNL, this project belongs to the field of materials and metallurgy, involving the multidisciplinary systems of steels, metallurgy, thermal forming, and computer simulation for major engineering.
Recently, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany announced that Prof. LU Ke, Director of Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science (SYNL), has been elected as the recipient of a Humboldt Research Award, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in materials science and technology.
