International Symposium on Advanced Ceramics and Technology
for Sustainable Energy Applications” (ACTSEA 2009) held
In Taibei, China during Nov. 1-4, 2009, and gave an invited
talk entitled “Challenges for the application of MAX phases
in Clean Energy Systems”. He also served as member of
the International Advisory Committee and chair of the
“Thermoelectric materials” session together with Dr. T.
Ohji from AIST, Japan. |

Prof. Yanchun Zhou
headed the delegation from IMR (Prof. Jingyang Wang, Mr.
Fangzhi Li, Mr. Bin Liu, Mr. Jiemin Wang, Mr. Xinpo Lu,
Mr.Longfei Hu and Ms. Jingjing Li ) to attend the 6th
China International Conference on Ceramics held In Harbin,
China during Aug 16-19, 2009, and gave an invited talk
entitled “Applications and Challenges for MAX phases”.
He also served as chair of the “Ultrahigh temperature
ceramic” session. |
Prof.
Yanchun Zhou attended
an AFOSR sponsored workshop on “Aerospace Materials
for Extreme Environments” held during Aug.3-5,
2009, at the Crowen Plaza Hotel in Clayton, St. Louis,
Missouri and gave one talk entitled “New
Zr(Hf)-Al(Si)-C
ceramics and their composites for ultrahigh temperature
applications”
. After workshop, he visited Missouri University of
Science & Technology, hosted by
Prof. Bill Fahrenholtz
and
Prof.Greg Hilmas. |
Prof. Yanchun Zhou

the 8th Pacific Rim Conference on Ceramic and Glass Technology

as organizer of Symposium 2 “Computational Approaches
in Materials Research and Design” and chair of the
“Ab-initio Calculations” session. |
